Abstract:

Gelsolin is an actin-binding plasma protein that is part of an actin-scavenging system. Gelsolin serves a protective role against tissue injuries and may play a crucial role in the pathophysiology of sepsis. The present study was designed to evaluate the diagnostic utility and the prognostic value of pGSN in the critically ill septic patients.
